Scott James INAP Awards International Ambassador for England, will be received by the Mayor of Camberley, in Surrey, England and British Actor Ian Cullen presents the 2012 International Naturally   Autistic People Award for “Excellence in Technology” to Adele and Quinten Divine founders SEN ASSIST, developers of software technology to help children with special needs in the classroom. This award is sponsored by Canadian National Autism Foundation – Founder Tina Fougere Scott will representing Canada as the official Ambassador to England and will be speaking on behalf of the Canadian organization CNAF and ANCA Naturally Autistic ANCA and founder Leonora Gregory-Collura Artistic Director/Choreographer/Producer

Continue reading »]]> The product of a sudden flash of brain lightning, Lilikin and his hangers-on were born in 2-D in the summer of 2009, and soon took corporeal form in multiple experimental iterations. Their creator, Kimberley Cleland, is a seasoned (read: jaded) toy designer with 10 years of industry drudgery and a lifetime of compulsive DIY-ness keeping her awake at night.

Following an unexpectedly successful run at Montreal indie craft fairs selling hand-made versions of the Friends to babies, kids, grown-ups, hipsters, nerds, weirdos, salsa-dancers and robots, Kimberley decided to take it to the next level, and Lilikin Industries was born.

And the masses are in love with Lilikin, Mollycoddle and Eleven. Adults buy them for themselves or as gifts for their young-at-heart friends. Parents buy them for their school-age children. One family of three young sisters pooled their allowances to lock Mollycoddle into an elaborate shared custody arrangement. And very many have become shower gifts for babies-on-the-way.

Not to brag or anything, but Eleven was vegan before it was a thing. He’s not just healthy. He IS health. He leaves a trail of it behind him on his walk home from the farmers’ market. You can smell it in the air when he wooshes past you on his vintage fixie. Sure, it’s a little more complicated, but it’s worth it. Just look at the results: that’s one svelte monkey.
