The Canadian National Autism Foundation is pleased to announce our “Autism Risk & Safety Management for First Responders and Front Line Workers ” presentation being held September 19th 2018, in Oakville Ontario with presenter Dennis Debbaudt. .Law enforcement professionals and other front line workers may unexpectedly encounter or be asked to find a person with autism. Recognizing the behaviour symptoms and knowing contact approaches can minimize situations of risk-risk or victimization of the person with autism, risk to the officer or worker etc. ....You may learn the person has autism from dispatch, family member or someone at the scene, or the person himself or herself. Autism recognition, response and ..risk management training sessions will help law enforcement, fire-rescue and emergency medical response, and criminal/juvenile justice professionals. Guest Speak and Foundation Board Member Dr. Mel Rutherford, Ph.D. is a professor in the Department of Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour, and Canada Research Chair in Social Perception. He is a professor in the Department of Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour at McMaster University.
Dr Rutherford is also one of our Foundations Board Members.
Dr Rutherford is the researcher who did the twin study on the information in which I gathered from the day of finding out I was pregnant with twins that made medical history break through around the world into early diagnosing of autism.
